Harry Shaw - screenwriter, producer and director
Harry Shaw is a filmmaker. He was born on June 11th 1995 and, at time of writing, has not yet perished. Beginning life in the world of documentary for Channel 4, he directed many non-fiction films before experimenting with narrative form until now... right at this moment, as he has ventured into writing biographies in the third person. His debut untitled narrative feature film is in development with Article1.
Harry is the co-founder of Ban Conversion Therapy, the leading organisation campaigning for a comprehensive ban of the vile practice. The campaign has attracted millions of people to the cause and is set on affecting change at the heart of government.
Harry's short documentary about dementia called 'DON'T THINK TWICE', with music by Bob Dylan qualified for the BIFAs in 2022. His latest short, 'SUGAR BABIES' - a hypnotic queer drama did the same. The film has been nominated for Cannes Independent Short Award, Best Drama in British Short Film Awards and has been shortlisted for two Shark Awards for Best Director and Best Film.
Harry is the producer of animated short film RICE BALL. The film was funded by the BFI x BMW fund in 2023, mentored by Michaela Coel, and premiered as a special presentation at the BFI London Film Festival 2023. It is now available to watch for free on the BFI Player in the UK and is seeking distribution internationally.
His next project is as the lead producer of short film MEAT RAFFLE, written and directed by Stuart Armstrong. The film has received funding from the BFI and will go into production in 2025.
Harry is currently assistant to showrunner Graham Yost and the writers of Silo, an AppleTV+ show starring Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Robbins.
